{gina & will; just married in syracuse}

Gina & Will were married Saturday at Holy Cross in DeWitt, and I have to thank Mother Nature for blessing us with a fabulous day for a wedding.  The temperature was just right, the skies were blue, and although they called for a chance of showers, we never saw a drop of rain.

I met up with Gina at her parent’s house, where she was getting ready for her big day.

Doesn’t she look beautiful?!

I love Holy Cross.

We stopped in downtown Skaneateles for some bridal party shots before heading to the reception. I say this every time, but Gina & Will’s bridal party was awesome.  Normally I meet the bridesmaids first and they usually take a while to warm up to me, but Gina’s bridesmaids were warm and welcoming from the start.  Thanks, girls, for being so great!

I love this photo of Will.

And yes, I managed to get a couple of nice pictures of them…

…before they jumped.  Lol!

A shot of the cake outside of The Lodge in Skaneateles, where they had their reception.  It was my very first time at The Lodge, and I’m excited to go back in October!

The cake was done by Patisserie, also in Skaneateles.  This is one of my favorite shots of the day.

The rings.

Mr. & Mrs.!

I love it when I have some entertainers on the dance floor!

I’ll leave you with this shot….I love fun and the sense of movement in this one.

{clarissa & stephen; just married in binghamton}

I’d been looking forward to Clarissa & Stephen’s wedding for just over a year now, and I can hardly believe it’s come and gone.  It won’t be one I’m likely to forget any time soon, though, not only because they both have such fun loving personalities, but because Mother Nature had some fun of her own in store for us.

We met up with the girls at Hair and Beyond in Binghamton, where they were getting their hair and makeup done.

The flower girl.  I could not resist those big, brown eyes!

I *loved* Clarissa’s purple wedding shoes!

And her *gorgeous* dress, which fit her to a “T”.

She’s just so naturally beautiful. It’s impossible to take a bad picture of her.  Really.

We had time for some outdoor portraits before we left for the church.

This is my favorite Bride/Flower Girl picture yet.

Their ceremony was held at Our Lady of Good Council in Endicott, NY.

This is what Clarissa looks like when the Priest says “Clarissa, take this ring….”, and Stephen doesn’t repeat it until after the Priest says it again.

I’m such a sucker for a man in a kilt!

I really loved this shot of Stephen and his Grandfather.

Someone hamming it up during my test shots.  Geez, Clarissa, would you stop being so camera shy?  LOL!

They had one of the Best. Bridal parties. Ever.

This has been one of the most unusual spring’s I can remember.  Hot Husband and I had talked about opening the pool around Easter, because temperatures were in the 80’s.  Then it cooled off considerably, which led to more “spring” like temps, but the forecast for Saturday was rain in the morning with temperatures dropping into the 30’s as the day went on, with wind gusts expected to be between 40-50 mph.  Not the kind of weather a Bride wishes for on her wedding day, but Clarissa promised they would be troopers so we could get some outdoor shots.  It was raining when this was taken, and I was lying in the wet grass (a first for me on a wedding day), but you wouldn’t know it at all from looking at these pictures.

The reception was held at Traditions.  Lindsay was my assistant for the day, which was especially fitting since I photographed her wedding reception there almost 2 years ago. It was a pleasure to be back!

The rings.

Although things were warm and dry inside the ballroom, Mother Nature was wreaking havoc outside.  Just as the Bridal party was lining up to be introduced at the reception the electricity went out.  After a quick consultation with Stephen and Clarissa, they decided to serve dinner and hold off on the introductions in hope that we would get some power.  Just as dinner was winding down things worked out, and Clarissa and Stephen were able to have their first dance as man and wife.

I loved the emotion in this image of Stephen and his mom during the Mother/Son dance.

And speaking of dancing, here’s a few more.  Ricky T did a wonderful job of keeping the dance floor rockin’!

Clarissa & Stephen, thank you so much for letting Lindsay & I be a part of your wedding day!  I hope the love that began in high school grows stronger every day for the rest of your lives.  I wish both the very best, and may you be blessed with that set of twin boys when you’re ready!  Have fun in Hawaii!

{the youngest’s first communion}

May 2nd was The Youngest’s first communion, and he had many friends and family in attendance.  He was *so* nervous the night before, but we certainly couldn’t tell the day of.

I definitely felt like I was shooting a wedding, except for the fact that I couldn’t get out of my seat to take pictures.

I knew it wasn’t a wedding, though, because even though she’s wearing a white dress and a veil, that’s *not* the girl that The Youngest is going to marry. ;)

We were thrilled to learn that Hot Husband’s Aunt Mary and Uncle Joe were coming in from Michigan to help us celebrate.  Uncle Joe was a high school friend of my Father-in-Law, Bobby, who passed away before The Youngest was born.  Words can’t describe how much it meant to us to have them there.

THIS is The Youngest’s future wife, if her Mother and I can help it.  It was also the *only* person he wanted to have his picture taken with.

Uncle Jim and Aunt Margaret came in from Long Island, and are also longtime friends of the family.  (Uncle Jim is Hot Husband’s Godfather.)  Many holiday’s were spent in Brooklyn with them and the Walsh’s throughout Hot Husband’s life, and I was lucky to experience that when we started dating.  We haven’t seen them in years, and it was so great to catch up!

My Sister-in-Law, Susan, who is also The Youngest’s Godmother, and my niece.

My parents joined us as well.

I have no idea who these two are…country club members, perhaps?

The Youngest’s Godfather, Lucas.

And our fab cake by Jen, friend and owner of She Takes The Cake in Manlius.
