Images from my latest album design. I’m completely in love with this one. KISS has rocked my world…again.

Ryan & Renae ordered theirs in Smouldering Brown, but it was Virgin White for me.

Once the book gets flipped through a few times, the pages will start to lay flat.

Notice the gutter…nothing gets lost in the middle.  Perfect for spreads like this.

A close-up of the image above, right.

One of the new Little Kisses.  They’ve been redesigned with leather covers and thicker pages that lay flat, just like their bigger albums.  Here you can get a feel for the size (they’re 4×4).  Perfect for carrying in your purse, ladies!

{Thank You}

Now that my 2009 wedding season is over and I’ve had a couple of weeks to breathe (kind of), I’ve been reflecting on what an awesome year it was for Lisa Walsh Photography, and I have you to thank.

A business without goals isn’t a business at all…it’s a hobby.  I am thrilled to say that I met *all* of my goals for my business this year, and I couldn’t have done it without you.  It’s heartening to know that a small business can grow even in tough economic times.  I truly believe that if you love what you do it will show, and if you treat people well and deliver on your promises word of mouth will spread like wildfire.  I can’t wait to see what 2010 will bring.

To my very awesome couples, again I say thank you.  Thank you for the opportunity to share your wedding day with you.  Thank you for your your complete trust in me.  Thank you for not caring about a little rain on your wedding day.  Thank you for being so darn laid back when things were crazy.  Thank you for keeping me company in the H3 when your limo never showed up.  Thank you for being so chill when the flowers weren’t right.  Thank you for letting me bring Missy and/or Michele along so they could gain experience as wedding photographers.  Thank you for treating me like a friend.  A girl couldn’t ask for better clients.  You all rock.

As a token of my gratitude I’m going to run a special on digital downloads for the rest of 2009.  For the month of December only (what’s left of it, anyway) digital downloads will be $1.  Yes, $1. (They are normally $15.)  Go ahead and download as many as you like, and make sure you let your friends and family know, because they might like to have a couple for themselves.  Remember, these can be used on Facebook, Twitter, and other social networking sites, and can be printed up to a 4×6.  (Anything larger won’t look good.  Trust me.)  I’m also offering a 10% discount on prints.  All discounts have been entered, so please let me know if they’re not reflected when you check out.

Since a post just isn’t right without a picture, I’ll leave you with a spread from Ryan & Renae’s wedding album design I’m currently working on.

Again, THANK YOU!!

KISS Me, I’m Irish

Lindsay & Pat’s KISS wedding album arrived about a month ago, but I couldn’t blog it until now. I get to know my couple’s so well that many of them give me complete control over the design of their album once they pick the initial images they’d like to see in it. Lindsay and Pat were one of those couple’s who told me to surprise them with the finished product. It was so hard not to publish the pictures until after they’d picked up the album!

I am so in love with KISS albums that I’ve stopped offering coffee table style books. While the company I’d previously used made a nice product, they didn’t compare to KISS. I love the thick pages of the KISS albums, the gorgeous leather covers, their customer service, and the guarantee they have on their product. I want the best for my couple’s, and this is it.

I couldn’t resist grabbing Junior so I could get some shots of their reaction when they came to pick up their album.

They come in these swank fabric covers.

Lindsay chose white leather for the cover, and it was perfect! I ordered Little Kisses as well, and took this side-by-side photo so you can see the size difference. Their album is 10×10.

Each page is 2mm thick.

One of the many reason’s I love these books is the gutter. They’re perfect for full page spreads!

Little Kisses come in sets of 9 and are exact duplicates of the Bride & Groom’s album. Lindsay now has one to carry in her purse.

P.S.  Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!

Once Upon A Time

I’ve spent the past week working on Jillian & Nate’s album design, and I thought I’d share it with you. It will be a 10×10 coffee table style book, with 20 pages. I typically design them with plain black page backgrounds, but this time I decided to add a little texture to the pages. It’s definitely something new for me, so I’d love to hear your thoughts since I’ll be starting Maria & Bob’s album tomorrow!
